The Human Resources Department provides a variety of human resource services for the City of Norwood’s workforce. Our goal is to ensure that employees are managed fairly, are well-trained, supported, and assigned job duties to accomplish City business objectives in a cost-effective, efficient and safe manner. The Human Resources Department is responsible for human resources services including recruiting and staffing, policy management, performance and compensation management, organization development, compliance, records management, union and employee relations, training and development, and benefits administration. We are committed to creating a quality employee experience.

The City of Norwood updates the Job Opportunities page for full or part-time employment as positions become available. Applicants are required to submit an application through the online application system.

The City of Norwood is an Equal Opportunity Employer. You will be fairly and equally considered for any position for which you apply based on your qualification and the information you provide in your application.

Jobs subject to a Civil Service Examination will show the scheduled examination date and process outline. The Civil Service Commission works closely with the Human Resources Department to monitor and fulfill the hiring needs of the city. The commission is responsible for ensuring that individual fitness and merit serve for the basis of appointment and promotion within the classified service of the city. Click "Civil Service Test Results" in the side bar to view recent test results.
