Gems of Our Community

The Gems of the Community Award is new this year and is presented by Norwood Together to recognize Norwood residents who have volunteered, making significant contributions to their neighborhood, school, or community during 2021. These are the gems of our community!

We’ll celebrate these community treasures at 5:30 pm February 24 at The Ventura, on the corner of Sherman Avenue and Montgomery Road. Thanks to our presenting sponsor, The Ventura Builders Group, for allowing us to use this beautiful space!

Receiving this recognition is a way to highlight the accomplishments of our city’s volunteer community leaders, express gratitude for their generous donation of time and talent, and inspire others to become involved in Norwood.

Please help us find and celebrate these community gems! FILL OUT THIS FORM to nominate the volunteer leaders you know.

Norwood Celebrates MLK Day

Be a part of the Day of Service

Monday, January 17

"Life's most persistent and urgent question is,

What are you doing for others?" - MLK, Jr.

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. lived his life serving others and working for racial and social justice.  MLK Day of Service is the only federal holiday observed as a national day of service – a "day on, not a day off." Making time to volunteer is a great way to engage with your community while honoring the legacy of Dr. King. Whether you plan on cleaning up a public space, registering friends to vote, or assisting those who are food insecure, what you do makes a world of difference
